Scott Hippensteel is a graduate of the University of Texas and is co-owner of ready to run. While at Texas, scott was a member of the cross-country and track team. Scott is a 28-year employee of the Lockhart independent school district where he works as a teacher and head cross country and track coach. He has led the Lockhart lions to 45 district championships, 18 regional championships, and two state championships in track and cross-country. His passion for running includes a long-time business connection to the sport. He began working part-time for Runtex in 1993 and has had a strong presence in the Austin running scene for many years.

Karla rodriguez hippensteel is a graduate from the university of texas and is co-owner of ready to run. Karla is a 30-year employee of the attorney general of texas, child support division. She is a university of texas at austin graduate. Her expertise includes over 20 years of software development changes necessary to support federal, state, and organization computer changes. Karla is a social runner!

Jen has been running and racing competitively for over 15 years. She graduated from purdue university where she competed in cross country and track for five years. She has been living in austin since 2013 and has been working at ready to run since the store opened. Jen has battled numerous injuries during her running career. Because of this, she has learned a lot about common/uncommon running related injuries and can be helpful in assisting those with similar problems.

Mac Allen began selling running shoes for RunTex in Austin in the year 2000.  He worked there for ten years, and then was on the shoe sales floor for Texas Running Company and Luke’s Locker.  Throughout this time period Mac was a distance runner and coach.

Mac coaches individuals in distances from 800 meters to the ultra marathon, including training on the track, roads, hills and grass.  His coaching has included water running, barefoot running, core fitness, and form analysis, and he has over 15 years of coaching experience for groups such as Jeff Galloway Marathon Training, RunTex, Rogue Running, Aspen Hill (Md.) Club, and Team Mac, which he founded in 2007.

Julie has lived in Austin for 15 years. She is a graduate from Brigham Young University and began running socially in college. In 2010 Julie caught the running bug and began training for her first marathon the Austin Marathon. Julie has trained with numerous running groups in Austin and has completed 9 marathons including the Boston Marathon in 2015. Julie knows the intensity of marathon training and has experienced common running injuries, she can relate to beginner runners and marathon runners.

Charles was introduced to running by a friend in 1978. He moved to austin in 1981 and ran his first cap10k that same year. Charles decided at the age of 57 he would sign up for his first marathon. He has completed in a total of six marathons! He worked at runtex for 10 years and now has been a part of ready to run since opening day in 2013. At the age of 75, he is still running and competes in the cap10k most years. Charles specializes in helping beginner runners.

Kim started running full and half marathons 15 years ago. Kim started running to get in shape after having two kids and joined Runtex University which shortly turned into Rogue Training. She has been training with ever since and is part of Team Rogue and has ran 20 marathons; Boston five times and numerous half marathons. Kim is a Certified Personal Trainer and worked at Texas Running Company Prior to Ready to Run for two years as a Sales Associate and Core Instructor. She has experience fitting long and short distant runners from beginners to advanced. Also, walkers and customers with injuries. Kim believes running brings you freedom, joy, and happiness. There is nothing else that can replace it!

Rory Tunningley is a 2013 graduate of the University of Texas, serving as cross country Team Captain his senior year. During his time with the Longhorns, Tunningley recorded personal bests of 29:30.36 in the outdoor 10,000m and 14:15.87 in the indoor 5,000m. His 50th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships (second among UT runners) helped propel the team to a 9th place finish overall. A three-time All-South Central Region performer, Tunningley also helped the UT men win back-to-back regional titles. Tunningley ran a U.S. Olympic Marathon trials qualifying time of 1:04.51 at the Rock ‘n Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon in 2015. With just 210 men achieving the 2016 qualifying standard, he finished a solid 89th at the Olympic Trials in 2:35:53, his first marathon ever.

Sara fell in love with running in 2013 while earning her master’s degree at Northeastern University in Boston. She moved to Austin in 2015. She has raced a number of distances, from the mile up to the marathon, and is now setting her sights on running an ultra. Before joining the team at Ready to Run, she sold running shoes and apparel at City Sports and Luke’s Locker, and has enjoyed helping runners of all skill levels. A member of Team Mac and the Oiselle Volée, one of Sara’s favorite things about running is the sense of community it brings.

Aubri is originally from Tulsa and just recently moved to Austin. She has always enjoyed running as a hobby, but prefers spending time on the trails. With one 50k under her belt, she plans on completing a few more distance trail races. In addition to running, she likes climbing, plays ultimate frisbee, and enjoys most things outdoors. She has worked in the run specialty industry for three and a half years and has worked for multiple stores doing a variety of jobs including marketing, event planning, management, training/hiring, and more. Aubri appreciates that running can take us away from the stress of our daily lives and to beautiful places.

Good place to get running shoes if you don't like feet fleet. Overall a good selection and good prices. Will come back to business in the future.
